"Hey Derek, Hope things are good on your end. I wanted to share a great JA story with you. Langston is apart of the Albany Medical College STEAM program. The parents orientation was last week Saturday and when I looked at the Fall 2017 schedule, I was surprised to see that the 43 students will be participating in the JA Entrepreneur Program over the course of 7 sessions during the months of Oct and Nov. The volunteer gave a presentation to the parents and as you can imagine, I could barely sit still in my seat. In speaking with her (Agnes Gault) I discovered that she was recruited by Chris Wessel and has been a volunteer for a long time. Her daughter is also in the Medical College program. I THANKED HER for her service and encouraged her to continue to recruit others to volunteer and make an impact on young people. She got a kick out of my story of being a JA achiever when I was thirteen back in the Bronx and my continued involvement today. JA is everywhere! I am happy and proud to continue my relationship with this organization. Regards, Sharon- "

"My experience with Mrs. Allen's 3rd grade class at Shatekon Elementary School was very positive! The students were interested and provided logical answers that surprised me at times! I truly felt I made a difference in their lives! I must thank Mrs. Allen, who was a wonderful help and role model for me in her classroom."

"Once you volunteer one time, you're hooked. The children so enjoy the program."

"I fully enjoyed the experience with my 5th graders, they loved hearing stories of the “real world” work that I do and I learned lots from them. I felt I made a difference getting them to realize STEM careers can be really fun and interesting. Hopefully some of them decide to come to KAPL when they get out of college! "

"Thank you for all your support and that of this dynamic program. It is written to bring workplace readiness and financial concepts all together for middle school students. It’s always a pleasure to bring business and industry consultants into the classroom. Kids really enjoy it as they figure budgets and decide cash or credit and learn about the real work world. "
