(Latham, NY) On the weekend of November 6th-8th 2009, Junior Achievement had more than 3,000 bowlers participate in the 22nd annual Futures' Bowl. The bowl-a-thon is Junior Achievement’s largest fundraiser of the year. Eighteen bowling centers were used throughout the twelve county region to host a record-breaking number of bowlers representing ninty seven businesses, organizations and state agencies. Participants represnted businesses from Glens Falls to Poughkeepsie. While the amount raised for 2009 is still unknown, during the 2008 event bowlers generated more than $250,000 to go toward the delivery of program in 177 schools.
Junior Achievement would like to extend our special thanks to the many sponsors of this event, especially our 2009 Signature Sponsor - General Electric Co., our Major Sponsor - Hannaford Bros. We also thank everyone from the 97 participating employers who raised funds which will enable Junior Achievement to provide programs to more than 26,000 students during the 2009-10 school year.
