Latham, NY - After 22 years of service to Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York, Carol Dyer has retired from the organization after completing an outstanding career. During Carol's tenure, Junior Achievement grew in every way possible. The number of student participants has increased from 1,800 in 1988 to more than 25,000 this past year. Other areas of growth included the expansion from four counties served to twelve while also increasing the number of programs offered.
Assuming the position of Education Director left open by Ms. Dyer's departure, is Cathy Eliseo the former Program Manager for Junior Achievement. Cathy has been a member of the Junior Achievement staff for three years coming to JA after serving in an education capacity with the Schenectady Museum for seven years. Ms. Eliseo will lead the program effort in the Capital Region which includes serving more than 18,300 K-12 students in more than 100 schools.
Working under Ms. Eliseo is Katie Reed, the newly hired JA program manager. Katie, a recent graduate for the University at Albany, will be work with more than 400 classrooms at the elementary school level in her new role.
Junior Achievement is Northeastern New York's largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. In partnership with business and educators, JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.
Today JA Worldwide reaches more than nine million students including more than five million students in 100 member nations. In Northeastern New York more than 25,100 students participate each year.
